Why are we doing this?
In 2012 teams stepped up to fundraise in a new and big way — by throwing their very own fundraiser parties. Now, in 2013, Chiditarod Coreganizers are getting into the act and throwing an all-team, all-volunteer, all-musher massive. There will be booze (OPEN BAR), music, photobooths, and *killer* prom vibe. Don’t waste time and energy throwing your own fundraising party — join forces and rock the prom.
$35 gets you 3 hours of OPEN BAR (from 7:30 – 10:30 pm), tons and tons of 80’s music, 2 photobooths (including one with silvery promish backdrop and ivy-wrapped pillar), door prizes, raffles, and the ability to see your friends and enemies don their best and worst 80s prom attire (including you. get shopping).
There’s also a $20 ticket available for those who don’t want the open bar or who are arriving later in the evening.
How does the fundraising work?
When you purchase tickets you can specify what team (or person) that should get credit for the price of your tickets. The cost of your tickets will then be tallied in their team fundraising totals for 2013. It’s a really simple and accessible way for teams to fundraise — just come to the party! At the end of the day, all net proceeds are raised for The CHIditarod Foundation — a new not-for-profit dedicated to solving Chicago’s hunger challenges. The Foundation will partner with and provide these funds to 501c3 organizations throughout the city who are solving hunger in innovative ways.
Raffle Auction
We’re setting up a raffle auction at the prom. Whatever your great idea for a prize is — gift certificates, homemade art, food, beverages, etc, that deer head on your wall, etc — you can bring it and auction it off which further increases your team’s fundraising totals. Raffle space is limited – you must contact us ASAP at prom@chiditarod.org to reserve your spot.
